The following is from my discussion at PlayNormal Esports on 6-25-19. I had an open discussion with a group of kids who were participating at a Fortnite camp.
This is a simple guide and does not go into full detail. There are many variables that are not discussed in the content below.

THE IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISE TRAINING FOR ESPORTS ATHLETES
How to start esports in your school:
- Talk to your parents for support
- Talk to your school administration and athletic director
- Contact the IESA for middle school players – https://www.iesa.org/resources/contact.asp
- For high school players, make sure you contact the IHSA to be added to the emerging schools page. https://www.ihsa.org/Schools/SchoolDirectory/EmergingSportsandActivities.aspx (The list of schools resets every year.)
- Devices – check the games you play and the specs of the PC’s you have in your school. Some games can be played on a console, which can save money when compared to PC gaming.
- If you don’t have access to gaming hardware, businesses like PlayNormal Esports want to help grow esports and they support local schools.
